How I Help

Every organisation
starts from a different place.

Some are preparing for future risks. Some are strengthening leadership capability. Others are planning an exercise or responding to an unfolding crisis.

Whatever your starting point, my role is the same: to help your organisation communicate more effectively, involve the people who may be affected, and strengthen preparedness across the relationships that matter most.

Philippe is not selling fixed programmes. Every engagement is tailored. There are no standard packages. No two organisations face the same risks, culture or operating environment.

Strategic Advice

Sometimes what organisations
need most is not another report.

They need an experienced adviser who can help leaders think clearly, challenge assumptions and make informed decisions under pressure.

My role is not to confirm existing thinking. It is to help organisations make better decisions.

This kind of support is less about deliverables and more about judgement — being alongside leaders when it matters, asking the questions that others may not, and providing honest advice based on experience rather than theory.

These are examples, not a fixed menu. If you are facing a challenge that does not fit neatly into a category, that is usually a good reason to start a conversation.

Strengthening Preparedness

Good communication starts
long before a crisis.

I work with organisations to strengthen preparedness by reviewing capabilities, identifying gaps and improving the way people, processes and communication work together.

The emphasis is always on improving organisational capability rather than producing documents. Plans that sit on shelves do not help anyone.

Preparedness work is most valuable when it involves the people who will actually be responsible during a crisis — not just those who commission the review.

Training and Capacity Building

Preparedness cannot be developed
through presentations alone.

People learn by discussing, practising, making decisions and reflecting together. I design and facilitate learning experiences that are practical, realistic and directly relevant to your organisation.

Exercises and simulations are designed around realistic scenarios that reflect the actual risks your organisation faces — not generic templates adapted from another sector.

Simulations designed around your organisation

I design and facilitate bespoke simulations and exercises for individual organisations, leadership teams and multi-agency groups. Each exercise is shaped around the organisation's risks, objectives, operating environment and participants.

These assignments are separate from CrisisCon and can range from focused discussion exercises to detailed, evolving simulations.

Flagship Initiative

CrisisCon

CrisisCon is a separate flagship initiative that brings different organisations and sectors into the same learning and simulation environment — one practical expression of the belief that organisations should prepare together.

What It's Like to Work Together

Direct, unconventional
and honest.

Clients often describe my approach as direct, unconventional and passionate. I ask questions. I challenge assumptions. I enjoy constructive debate.

If I believe an idea will work, I will tell you. If I believe it will not, I will tell you that too — and explain why.

The goal is always the same: to leave organisations genuinely better prepared — not just better documented.

Direct Advice, With Additional Expertise When Needed

Direct access.
The right expertise when needed.

Every engagement is led directly by Philippe. This does not change with the scale or complexity of the work.

When a project requires additional expertise or capacity, trusted specialist collaborators may join the assignment. Philippe remains the lead adviser and the client's principal point of contact throughout.

This provides direct access to Philippe while allowing each assignment to draw on the expertise it genuinely requires.

Common Questions

Questions about working together

How long does a typical engagement last?+

It varies considerably. A preparedness review might take two to four weeks. A training programme design and delivery cycle typically runs two to three months. Advisory retainers are usually structured around a defined number of days per month. I am happy to discuss what makes sense for your situation.

Do you work with organisations outside Europe?+

Yes. I work globally. Regular engagements take me to Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, North America and beyond. I am comfortable working in English and French, and I have experience working across significant cultural and institutional differences.

Can you assemble a team for larger projects?+

Yes. For larger or more complex projects, I draw on a professional network of experienced practitioners — trainers, facilitators, communication specialists and subject-matter experts. I remain the primary point of contact and take responsibility for the quality of the work.

How do I know if this is the right kind of support?+

The best way to find out is a conversation. I will tell you honestly if I think I can add value — and equally if I think another approach or another adviser would serve you better. There is no obligation and no standard pitch.
